For the Love of Horses by Kelly Wilson
This book is one of my favourite books that I have read this year.
It is the story of the three Wilson sisters, Kelly. Amanda and Vicky Wilson. it follows their journey through their equestrian life and the challenges and highlights they have.
When they were young they often had ponies that were given to them, because these ponies needed work and this was how their reputation of fixing ponies started. They did not have a lot of money when they started out but through hard work and knowledge, they have become famous in New Zealand.
Each of the sisters has their talents. which they use to work together. Kelly is well known for her skills in photography and her ability to capture the beautiful Kaimanawa horses. Amanda is a trainer and runs horsemanship clinics throughout New Zealand, and Vicky is a competitive rider having ridden in Germany and she is well known for her training of wild horses.
They have helped bring to attention the need to preserve the wild horses known as Kaimanawas that live in the Kaimanawa ranges on the North Island. and a highlight of the annual Equifest in Taupo is watching them perform.
One of the things that I have enjoyed the most in this autobiography is the way that the sisters have worked so hard to get where they are today. They were determined and hard-working. they had setbacks but they have been committed to their passion for horses. This demonstrates that hard work really does pay off.
