Books listed on our website are in stock and are usually dispatched from our Masterton store within 24 hours. NZ deliveries ordinarily arrive within 2-3 days (4-10 for rural areas).

Rare & collectable Editions delivery

This includes all limited edition books and prints as well as some bulky items. Due to their value, they need extra packing and tracking to ensure they arrive with you safely. Please select this shipping option at checkout.

Rare & collectable Editions New Zealand wide: $20
Rare & collectable to Australia: $90
Rare & collectable to the rest of the world: $250

All Debit and Credit Card payments are processed securely on our site through Stripe. We process the payment once we have located the book in our store, so it may take a few hours for the transaction to show in your account.

We also accept payment via Bank Transfer to our Bank of New Zealand account.

We offer a 28 day exchange period for all books so long as they are returned in perfect, unread condition.

If you are sending a book outside of the Wairarapa, we can include a Booksellers NZ Exchange Card. This card will let the recipient exchange it in any participating store nationwide, without the need for a receipt. Tell us you need one in the order comments when you checkout.

Sending someone a gift? We’ll wrap it for free and can include a note to our recipient.

Just mention this in the order notes at the checkout.

Purchasing a Gift Card

Hedley’s Gift Cards are sent as an online voucher via email and can be redeemed on our website or in our Masterton store.

They have no expiry date and can be purchased in any denomination you would like. Head here to purchase.

Please note, Gift Cards are not sent automatically and there can be a delay of up to one day while we process your order.

If you would prefer a physical Gift Card posted to your recipient to be used in-store only, please call us on 063782875.

Redeeming your Gift Card

To redeem your Gift Card in-store, simply show us your Gift Card email.

To redeem your Gift Card on our website, head online and choose your books. Enter the Gift Card code from your email using the Gift Card payment option at the checkout.

Sorry, we can’t provide cash change. If your order total is more than your Gift Card value, we’ll get in touch to make up the difference.
