John Savage (1770-1838) was a lieutenant and assistant surgeon in the 1st West York Militia. He was a member of the Royal Jennerian Society, established in 1803 to assist the proper spread of vaccination. In 1808, he was appointed assistant surgeon in Bengal.
This is a facsimile of his 1807 account of NZ, particularly the Bay of Islands and surrounding districts.
